I wish I owned an EV, but at least we are able to have a small efficient sedan as our main vehicle. I do always get a hit of shadenfreude when the goldfish memory brigade again gets hit with a gas price spike. Happens like clockwork every time. Gas prices are low for awhile. The goldfish brigade assumes that's how things will always be and buys $60k giant clown cars to drive around in. Then they're left with their pants down when the inevitable happens and gas prices soar during a crisis. Meanwhile my partner and I are over here, happily driving our two small efficient vehicles, vehicles with a combined value less than a tenth of our annual income.
I can't think of a better example of "a fool and his money are soon parted" than the fools who convince themselves they need a giant SUV or penis-extending pickup truck.
