Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

I used to be a most people are good kind of person, then covid happened and people let the world see their true colors. Yeah so many people are assholes. There are a lot of good people out there for sure, but I went from 80% of people are good to 40% of people are good in a few years. And since covid it seems like the empathy bucket ran dry for a lot of people. People have become so self centered and selfish the past few years, just straight up assholes.

It's a cascade effect. The more selfish and self centered others are, it necessarily makes you behave that way.

I'm not immune. I have quit a lot of things I used to do because I felt like I was surrounded by selfish assholes and I just hated how it made me feel. I missed being around people that made me feel like they were kind and generous. And that's really really hard to find, because so many people are circling the wagons these days. Most of the people I meet who claim they are kind and wonderful are super hateful and bigoted. Their kindness only extends to people who look, talking, and think exactly like they do. As soon as they find out you 'aren't one of us' they HATE you.

10 years ago life was not like that. People might not have agreed with you, but they didn't HATE you. 10 years ago nobody cared what car I drove... now everyone makes a comment about my perceived politics based on it. It's so fucking weird.

A big part of it was brain damage from COVID.
