I'm a physically masculine straight guy who never cared about boy vs girl hobbies and spent most of my childhood having everyone think I was gay. I liked the color pink and puppies and collecting stickers
I met my first trans person in college but it wasn't until it became a political talking point years later that I really reflected on my youth. I was left with some uncomfortable feelings about what might have happened if I was born 20 years later. I am not trans but would I have talked myself into thinking I was a girl? I was impressionable as hell and also online.
