Can anyone recommend any books/articles/essays/videos on the topic? I've often heard it referenced as a low point in Soviet foreign policy and one of the causes of its breakup, not to mention the aftereffects, from the war on terror to the opioid crisis. But I haven't stumbled upon any videos on the war by popular Breadtubers, and most sources are probably going to be strongly biased towards the West.

It's just a gap in my understanding of recent history I'd like to try and fill. Any source suggestions are welcome, thanks!
