I think it's cause they changed the default wine or something. Had this problem a while ago and decided to use heroic launcher or steam
I tried to use Heroic, but my copy of SimCity isn't a GOG game, so it wouldn't launch correctly. Heoric seems to have a much easier GUI though for installing games compared to Lutris, so no wonder so many people are switching over.
Then try adding it as non steam game, enable compatible and use proton-ge. Proton-ge works a lot better and manage to run apps at that proton didn't
Luckily i was able to get it working in lutris, but now i'm curious to get it working in Heroic. Thanks for the tips, i'll try it out. If we can figure this stuff out now, we can help others who are bound to run into the same problem. I just wish you could find lemmy posts on search engines like reddit posts, but they are all hidden it seems.
I think the search options needs reworked or might depend on what client you use
