Slight correction: gun control was one of the Democrats main CAMPAINING promises for a couple decades.
Their actions over those decades have shown what their priorities are. Fundraising and losing.
Obligatory fuck the cult of MAGA but the dems could not feel more like controlled opposition unless they outright told the american people that's what they are.
