Had to visit Camberwell for a meeting today, not a suburb of Melbourne Iโ€™ve ever visited. Such a contrast to my west side hood, in the types of people walking around, the much nicer houses and buildings. Their office was very flashy. Felt like the person from the ghetto seeing how the other side lives.

The leafy green burbs in the east are definitely something else compared to the west.

With that in mind, feel free to rob people. They're scared of us from the other side of the bridge.

Just plant more yuccas, bit of synthetic grass, few footy gnomes it's not all bad out west.

I'm gearing up to get rid of the yucca in my garden. Bastard is like 2.5 metres tall.

Gonna take some doing but we'll get there.

Good luck, I did some reading about that and it's a tough job. Eye (and even ear) protection advised, apparently their pointy leaves have been known to both blind and deafen people by poking into places they do not belong.

Do you have a stump treatment/removal plan to stop regrowth?

Have my gardening goggles!!! For ears I should be okay. Going to cut the branches off and then trim them at ground level.

For the stumps, I have some poison ready. Hate using it, but not going to pay for a stump grinder.

2.5 metres tall

hrmm.. I would offer to help but i won't.

Mine are even worse. Have scared off multiple arborists.

I think the yuccas are a bit old fashioned now, it's all synthetic grass and badly laid rock 'mulch' with bits of plastic liner showing through. Both options are also riddled with overgrown weeds.

I'll have you know I own zero football gnomes. The rest however...

Used to live in camberwell near the junction many moons ago as a 20 something.

It was sort of souless but there was an awesome chicken place at the end of the street that arrested many a hangover.

the west and north never used to be so ghetto and run down, it's so heartbreaking to see

I think the loss of rates revenue from the now closed manufacturing and defence facilities has left these councils poor

pokies and gambling has not helped communities either

If I were in the council I'd be applying for every grant, state and federal, that I could

and would do my best to drive out pokies

nothing will stop the centuries old prejudices but standards of living can be raised and opportunities nurtured

Our historical landmark is pacific Werribee lol
