don't forget that you pay tax on your bonus but you give the whole thing back if you quit or if you're fired.

I would imagine you'd be able to file an amended return for a prior tax year so you could get the money you paid in tax back, but executing that likely requires more brain cells than these newly minted Proudboy/ICE thugs have.
