That theory is being put to the test right now. If people can't afford their toys, and the government is doing constant outrageous bullshit and murdering people in the streets, there's only so far distraction can go in that environment. Time will tell I guess
im guessing thats why they included culture war BS, as extra on top of it, which affect both sjws and conservatives, conservatives more though. it only goes so far, but having fear based "grief" last alot longer.
