shrug-outta-hecks They got me. Experiencing quality bike infrastructure and balanced grey-green space made me an entirely new kind of communist on top of already being a communist.

I wonder if the Newsmax shit is responsible for some brainworms I saw last year. There's this 85 year-old right-winger who cleans up fishing line in a park every day. One time I stopped to talk with her and she pointed out the bike lanes on the street next to us, the one I commute on every day to protect that park along with most of my coworkers. She absolutely hated them and was convinced that cyclists cause "4 mile (6.4km) long traffic jams". Specifically 4 miles long, which is about the length of her entire city. That street was notorious for cars killing the birds she was helping, while my ebike doesn't scare geese right next to me. The pollution from cars and road maintenance go directly into the lake she walks around daily, and she watches the birds drink up that water that isn't safe to eat fish from. It always stuck around in my head as one of the weirdest things I've heard a reactionary say.
