Hello whoever stumbles upon this post!

Looking for advice and ideas. 11/08/2026 will travel to Porto, Portugal with a plan to get a rental and travel to Spain. Idea is to find a hotel somewhere between Porto, Portugal and Leon, Spain and on the big day travel somewhere around Leon to find a viewing area.

Maybe someone could advise how to really choose a viewing spot? Is getting snacks and parking on random roadside would be a good idea? Never been to Spain, so had to imagine what to expect!

i check, and, in my opinion, it’s that bad, could find quite many decent places, especially becaue we are splitting in half and because we are so much more flexible with car. £200 for 2nights for 2, not bad at all

That's really good! I couldn't get a hotel at all for that price. I ended up with a hostel for 200 a night in a 6-person room. Most hotels were completely booked or at least 400 a night (and I'm going for 6 days).

Probably because Iceland is closer to the States, and has one of the longest times for totality.

Iceland is expensive probably because its an isolated islands far away, been there once as transfer, Would really love to go here as we were there just few hours. Really beautiful place!! Hope you will enjoy it!!! Any extra plans there?
