Are you for real? The Supreme Court stopped him.
At some point I hope people like you realize that the Democrats don't get things done because they don't want to get things done.
They sure enjoy getting things done for wars, genocide, corporate profits, and ICE funding though. Weird how that works.
They're always "forced" into working with Republicans to fund stuff that hurts Americans. But, for some reason are always blocked by Republicans on things that would help Americans. So odd how that works.
I'm not a fan of the Democrats, dude. But you need to read about what actually happened with the student loan forgiveness stuff before saying shit you know nothing about. Coming from someone who would have had a significant amount of his debt eliminated.
When the Republicans vote to end the current fillabuster rules to pass stuff that hurts Americans all power will be given to the Republicans. They will go nuclear and have no one to stop them short of rewriting the constitution. And you know who defends against laws that violate the Constitution? The supreme court does. The same supreme court that overturned the "superprecident" of Roe v. Wade. This will all happen before the elections in November.
When that happens; I hope you remember it and think "hmmm, maybe that guy knew what he was talking about". The Democrats could have done this when they had majority in the Senate. And now the Republicans are doing it to literally nationalize elections and fund ICE standing outside every polling station.
The only reason the Republicans haven't ended the fillabuster yet is because the Democrats literally keep passing all the shit they want. Hell, they might not even need to end the fillabuster because the Democrats are so submissive to them.
Now the Democrats could have ended the fillabuster. They could have passed the Green new deal, student loan forgiveness, and things that were actually good. Instead, they use it as an excuse to get nothing good done and try to go other routes like Biden did and got blocked by the supreme court.
Because I do know what I'm talking about. The Biden administration could have passed student loan forgiveness day one and a massive infrastructure bill. They could have had 4 years of helping the working class and solidifying their support like FDR. They didn't. They spent all their time funding a genocide instead.
When you get so use to nothing good being done you'll defend 0.85% of something being done as if it was good.

What the fuck are you even talking about, the student loan forgiveness stuff has NOTHING to do with the filibuster.
I'm not defending shit, you literally have no fucking idea how this country works, so you might want to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up and let the adults talk.
You realize Biden did an executive order for student loans because he couldn't get the votes in Congress right? This is what the supreme court blocked.
Removing the filibuster rule (something they CAN do with a 51 vote majority) would have made it possible to pass laws with a simple majority of 51 votes. They had 53 Democrats sitting in the Senate and a majority in the House when Biden took office.
It's funny that you needed this explained to you to understand why I was talking about the filibuster. You are so uneducated that you couldn't even understand what I was talking about. So instead of using your brain you instead concluded "what does this have to do with student debt? Am I stupid? No! It must be him!"
Here, you might need to watch this while the adults talk.

You've lost the plot, you literally blamed the student loan forgiveness stuff on Biden. Go back up and look for yourself.
Wait that's too generous. Just moving the goalposts.
Biden attempted to forgive $20k through Congress, and they shot it down.
His Executive Order was complete forgiveness, so it was much better anyway.
So you're blaming Biden for the Senate not using the filibuster to forgive 20% of student loans, but then mad at Biden for not doing enough for doing an E.O. to forgive ALL OF IT after that failed?
And nothing to say about the people and groups who fought that tooth and nail, bringing in entities like MOHELA who stated themselves they wanted nothing to do with it, so they could claim standing.
Nothing to say about the corrupt Supreme Court.
No, this is on Biden.
Do you see how you are stuck going in a circle making an excuse for no progress being made? Well, Biden tried but he got blocked by the supreme court. Well, Biden tried but he didn't have enough votes. Well, Biden tried but pushing the Senate Democrats to end the filibuster is bad for future politics. We have to "work with the Republicans". What would happen if the Republicans had a 51 vote majority? Like, how old are you? Are you a gen Z new to this dance of nothing being done the Democrats do? If so, I forgive you a bit more. But if you're over 33 and saying this shit. Aren't you tired of defending mediocre failures of presidents like Obama and Biden?
You're constantly stuck in a cycle of reasoning to yourself why good things are not possible.
I don't judge politician's based on what they TRY to do. I judge politician's by RESULTS. Do you see how incredibly weak and useless Biden was as a President? No one with a functioning brain thought the executive order wouldn't be blocked. Hell, Bidens brain was barely functioning and he even knew it would be blocked. That's why he did it.
He did it exactly for people like you to point at later to point to TRYING instead of results. It's why you can't just admit that 0.85% of student loans being forgiven is essentially nothing. You can't look at RESULTS because there are none.
The entire point of the presidency is to LEAD the party. Look at Trump. He's an awful fucking president in terms of policy and results. But he is able to whip actual votes.
If the president can't whip votes within the Senate to get his legislation passed he is useless. The legislation is nothing more than a carrot on a stick for voters. Every Democrat president will TRY to do something and will always fail to get any meaningful results. Giving Biden credit for TRYING is useless. It's exactly what a Democrat president is meant to do. Fail to pass policy that actually helps people.
It's been the entire purpose of the party since the rise of neoliberalism.
So, your argument is the Dems should throw out the rule book to show them magas what's right?
The fillabuster is a procedural rule invented by the Senate. It's not law mate.
You can't even fucking spell the word, but sure you know so much about it
Eh, I have dyslexia and trust my autocorrect too much. But I do know what it's actually referring to and how it can be removed in the Senate. I'll take misspelling a word I don't commonly type over being ignorant of how it works to block progressive laws from being passed.
It has nothing to do with what happened with Biden's student loan forgiveness
If they voted to end the filibuster (something they only need 51 votes to do. As it's a rule and not a bill) they could have passed student loan forgiveness (a bill) with even 2 of the 53 Democrats not voting for it. Meaning a simple 51 vote majority. They could have passed a Green New Deal. They chose not to.
Like, how do you not get what I'm talking about? Like, can you not connect basic things together?
I started talking about the filibuster because I incorrectly assumed someone reading or replying would have a minimal level of understanding of our system of governance.
The president leads the party. They lead policy and push for whips to whip votes in the House and Senate. To pretend that the Democrats and Joe Biden were "stuck" is idiotic.
Just because you don't understand how things work to get legislation passed doesn't mean it "has nothing to do with it". It means you don't understand it. I can explain more if you want. But you are grandstanding on your own ignorance and it's quite frankly embarrassing.
Did you forget what you were even arguing about?
Let me help you out. Here's your original comment I replied to:
Why are you talking about Democrats in Congress now? We were talking about Biden. You took what you are now acknowledging is at lest partially on Senate Democrats, and blamed it all on Biden. And then when called out, you shifted the goalposts.
Yeah, Democrats fucked up. But we were talking about Biden doing or not doing enough, not the Democrats and the filibuster.
I'm sorry I'm capable of using my brain and knowing THE LEADER OF THE PARTY, the person that leads and directs policy for their entire term in office, THE PRESIDENT, is the person to blame for being weak and not whipping votes to get their policies passed.
What is this brick wall you've built up in your mind between the Democratic party and its leader?
Is it so you don't have to address the failure? Like poor ol lil Biden tried so hard but HIS OWN PARTY is to blame? Gee, I guess Trump has nothing to do with funding ICE like a second military. He clearly had no control. That was the House and the Senate that voted for it. /s
Do you hear yourself?
It's so pathetic that you bring up my original comment as being unrelated. It's not. You're too stupid to understand it. That's not my fault.
What is my fault is I made the assumption you were not stupid. I made the assumption that you understood a small amount of how the system works. I apologize for the "jump" you felt because you lacked basic understanding of the topic.
But, now, I've literally tried to spoon feed you some basics and you're grabbing the spoon and shoving it in your ear while screaming "ugh! What does that have to do with that?! My brain can't comprehend how that works!"
Look at you, you don't even know what this discussion was about.
You're so blinded by your hatred for Biden and Democrats (a lot of which is warranted), that you can't even accept that he tried to do a thing and was blocked. You can't accept that someone, in passing, gave him credit for trying to do that thing.
Take a step back and think about why you're like this.
If you believe that Biden did the executive order not already knowing it would be blocked you are an idiot. It was political pandering and apparently it worked on you. You're exactly who he did it for. 0.85% of student loan debt forgiven, ignoring the way the Democrats could have actually passed it, and giving someone credit for doing something everyone with a brain knew would not work.
Congratulations. You are the idiot that the Democratic party was made for!
