He's black, not blue, so Sunspot or Obsidian maybe.

I think he was originally supposed to be black, it's just that blue is used to provide highlights for mostly black characters like batman and venom.

True, although in many of the comics I read in my youth Kurt was depicted as a very dark blue to the point that they made significant amounts of him look black.
