I feel like nightmares in media often involve a monster of some sort, but IME nightmares tend to be more grounded and involve someone I know personally doing something bad.

I've had a few:

  • A thing with a fleshy tetrahedron head (Creepy but ultimately harmless)
  • A "ringwraith" (Actually just a cloaked figure with invisibility powers that used them to go around killing people with a chain gun)
  • Little clay statue men with big Easter Island heads (They could be summoned with a ritual. The more people they killed, the more money the summoner would get. A couple of bandit-looking guys summoned them in hopes of paying for a $1500 car repair.)
  • The "Queen Bee" (Insect-like figure with wings, four slender arms, and a rigid, mask-like face. Cries as she kills you. If she kills you, she dies, and your corpse transforms into a new Queen Bee.)
  • A boy who was transformed by a science experiment into a grotesque gigantic biomechanical battleship that went around killing planets (he eventually got killed by a girl who transformed herself into an even bigger biomechanical ship after he devastated her planet. Once she'd gotten her revenge on him, she turned out to be pretty chill.)
