The serious answer is the film suggests the barrier they do is for the whole world and only happens to be located geographically on the Southern part of the Korean Peninsula.
And demon hunters from Korea having been doing it for centuries/millennia. The film doesn't say there's only one Korea, but had the USA not intervened in the 50s its would be DPRK band or pop group doing the ritual almost certainly.
It might be the PRK without the US and co, right?
Depends on what point they don't intervene I guess.
