Tanks now are just a portable armored artillery capable of moving on their own( built in engine) and surviving longer than regular artillery units simply because of the crew is protected from regular anti-infantry weapons. Other than that tanks are now relatively useless in direct combat.
They're just meat delivery systems.
We already have those. They’re called the Paladin M109 Howitzer. Tanks are strictly worse at being artillery than our artillery so they’re becoming very useless.
