I guess I'll just exist in an economic limbo where technically I own billions in assets but also have slightly less billions in debt. That way my networth always exists above one million!

There are no easy answers. Every time someone comes up with an "easy answer", someone else comes up with a way to exploit it. Especially under capitalism. In fact, that's exactly what capitalism is. Finding ways to exploit rules to benefit personal wealth.
