My sister needs a streaming device but they all seem to be awful. The only one that seems somewhat decent is the Apple TV but that's too expensive. Out of the cheaper ones which one is the least worst? I'm currently leaning towards a Firestick because it seems marginally better than Roku and Chromecast have apparently been discontinued

I don't use Netflix in my setup, but it looks like it should support HD content. I spotted a few threads where people had trouble with specific systems like Dolby Digital with Nvidia Shield, so YMMV.
