2026 Da Hui Backdoor Shootout in Memory of the Duke — Day 2 (WARNING: REAL SETS THIS TIME!!!)

You showed up last time to watch some of the best surf teams in the world surf bathtub water, and today they're back, but this time with real waves!!!

ITS DAY TWO OF THE BACK DOOR SHOOTOUT!!

ABOUT THIS UNIQUE EVENT

The Da Hui Backdoor Shootout isn’t a traditional surf contest -- no person-versus-person heats. Instead, there are eight shortboard teams, each made up of five surfers, and each team gets the same amount of water time over the waiting period at Pipe and Backdoor. The goal: get as barreled as possible. Team scores are added together, and the team with the most points wins. There’s also an individual winner -- the surfer with the highest total score. Simple. There are also SUP and longboard divisions, plus a Wahine Expression Session. Traditional? Nah. Fun to watch? Undeniably.

Au lieu de chacun fait un max de points en 20mn, c'est par équipe pendant 1h, le score se faisant sur la total des membres chacun un vague de pipeline et une de backdoor. Les points sont sur le style et les tubes (barrels) et si un mec a 10 mais que le suivant fait mieux les juges peuvent monter a 11, 12 pour garder un échelle correcte.

En français pipeline: ils vont a droite de l'écran, backdoor a gauche (la vague marche des deux cotes)
