I'm reading Red Plenty with a book club of mostly libs, and my job is to keep my temper down and also know more than everyone else about central planning.

I don't have time to read a book on it, ideally like a good article or something.

Cybersyn, big data, variety engineering and governance by Raul Espejo

Its a paper on Cybersyn written by a guy involved with it.

If you are looking for other texts on economic planning, there has been an uptick in work done on this lately.

https://www.indep.network/ & https://www.democratic-planning.com/ are two places to look

Also "Economic Planning in the Age of Climate Crisis" is a short book and takes the linear programming approach. (One of the authors is a piece of shit, but it's worth downloading from Anna's Archive). There have been criticisms of it too: https://cosmonautmag.com/2023/07/how-not-to-economically-plan-in-the-age-of-climate-crisis/

Doubling the rec for Morozovs podcast The Santiago Boys. His article Digital Socialism is also worth reading.

Also, The Forest and the Factory by Chavez and Neel. It's more of a speculative piece on non-capitalist production and innovation, but an enjoyable read. They are both great writers.
