I'm quite new to Arc Raiders (and the extraction shooter genre in general) and have been having a blast for the most part. The one thing I'm struggling with is getting "ratted." Despite only having two defensive knocks in my entire month of playing (both from weeks ago) I still seem to run into players who are immediately hostile, even after acting friendly.

I wanted to see if anyone here had any anecdotes or opinions on how they play or the game / servers.

Don't shoot!

My thing is I joined my friends last night and they are little shits in the game that shoot on sight so I hope my account is not stained permanently.

The thing is it doesn't really matter how your friends are, any duo or trio is pretty much insta pvp no matter what you want. Just play a few matches without shooting anyone and you'll be fine

My most fun match was finding 2 other trios and taking down the matreioc.

From what I understand (watching people experiment, and experimenting myself), it usually takes around 5 games to skew matchmaking towards any direction!
