A small business owner who voted for Donald Trump recently posted a video on TikTok, pleading for help as crushing tariffs on China threatened to bankrupt his operation, which imports alloy wheels. His call for support, however, drew little sympathy from some fellow Americans.

“Votes have consequences,” he was told, with many comments from Twitter/X users relishing the notion that another MAGA voter was suffering because of their political choice. The backlash prompted a second video from the man, in which he dropped several F-bombs while criticizing the apparent heartlessness of those celebrating his hardship.

It is interesting to read the coverage. Many of us didn't relish anything. We find it ironic, we find it good for the lulz, and we ask ourselves, "Do you think he learned anything?" followed by the observation, "Meh, probably not. Reality never interested him, so why should things be different now?"

We don't want Trump supporters to get fucked. Rather, we want to live in a world where Trump can't fuck over anyone. But that's not the situation right now, and karma's a motherfucker.

THIS!!!!

They don't seem to understand that we aren't enemies. They are Americans, just like we are Americans. We want ALL Americans, including them, to be healthy, well paid, well fed, and safe.

Those conditions are NOT being met right now. Ask anyone on food stamps how well fed they are.

Ask an economist how well paid the average american is.

Ask Rene Good how safe she feels. Oh wait, you can't. She's dead.

Right now, America is in a very dangerous place. Some say we're dangerously close to being a fascist dictatorship. Others say we're already there. Trump brought this, but he's not the "cause". Trump is only the tool. Even if the 2028 election is legit, and Trump can't run, he was never the archetect of this. OTHER republicans will prop up the next guy. They'll say the democrat running that year is the cause of everybodys misery. And the same path trump led us down will be continued. And nothing will change.

Even when it became clear that covid was killing more republicans than democrats, despite logically it making more sense that it would kill more in densly populated democrat cities. Which it only did so because democrats respected 6 feet distance, masks and vaccines. While republicans......made out with their sisters I guess?

Even when it became clear it was killing them more than democrats, they STILL called it a hoax.

Then I'd see actual real life examples of them posting on facebook that "their brother just died of covid, and omg guys covid is real, we need to start taking precautions!". Only to be met by their own community as a traitor to their community. Mocked for believing in covid. Until another post was the same thing. Aaaaaaand repeat.

This stupid "war" has never ended. It's only gotten dumber, with bigger stakes.

  • They don’t seem to understand that we aren’t enemies. They are Americans, just like we are Americans.

  • While republicans…made out with their sisters I guess?

Maybe mixed signals like these are just unclear to them (and people in general)?
