Hello new Lemmy friends!
Word on the street tells us our community is regularly making it the all page. While this is very cool news to hear, we can see how the sudden emergence of our posts in your feed might feel jarring and probably raises some questions. And also how, without knowing the backstory, our community might appear less than virtuous, so here’s a very brief introduction which hopefully will clear a few things up.
The woman we’re discussing is a body positive influencer and media personality who has gained fame and wealth by lying, manipulating, exploiting her children for content, plagiarizing BIPOC creators and blaming her BIPOC content editor for it (thereby ruining her career), among other things. Her fraudulent behavior is no different (I’d argue worse) from the likes of Jay Shetty (google him if you don’t know who he is or what he did). She’s the latest in a long line of grifting influencers who are abusing their power, taking advantage of their position and exploiting their followers. The difference is that she’s Canadian. Our laws around social media and advertising aren’t as clear (and where they are she’s disobeyed them), add to that, our mainstream media has protected her from those who’ve tried to expose her grift and silenced/intimidated anyone who’s tried to speak out.
Our Reddit sub was taken down due to reports of copyright infringement, which is unfounded and categorically untrue as no one ever tried to steal her work and pass it off as their own. The mods have made an appeal. While at first glance it may seem like we’re just “shitting on her” the sub has been more devoted to investigation and posting proof of her lies than just bitching for the sake of bitching. The reality is that she’s hurt, manipulated and let down a lot of people. She stole intellectual property and employment, caused mental distress and has repeatedly told lies to boost engagement and profit off her audience, so people are understandably upset that their voices are being silenced.

Just thinking about how Sarah has always been a shit person but if all but if all these affair rumours are true this may be the shittiest she’s ever been. Like I get if maybe you meet someone and have some sort of connection but to throw away both their marriages is it really worth it? Especially for Sarah who has already been divorced, brought 3 kids into a new home with a new man, had another kid with him, now to do this to them again PLUS Lemon and by probably cheating?? Like how shitty can you possibly be? Is it really worth it for a relationship that’ll probably last a couple months when Sarah realizes she isn’t really into girls. Causing all this emotional damage to multiple people.
It’s just mind blowing to me especially when she’s out there looking for sympathy and hugs from her Instagram followers for damange she (and Cagla, she isn’t innocent either!!!) caused. It’s sick.
I know we could be totally wrong about all of this but I don’t think so. I get the sense Sarah and Shane’s spark went out ages ago but still doesn’t change the fact this is all a mess and she’s a terrible person to do this to her family and to Meredith too.
Really just shows how selfish she is and only cares about herself, because i could not imagine doing this to my kids.

Sarah only cares about Sarah. Remember. It’s HER story. It’s her YES era. She will never care about anybody, but herself, as long her a her ego both shall live, in (un)holy matrimony.
All this toilet poetry she’s written about LOVE. I don’t believe she is even capable of it. She only loves the idea of being in love.

The rumour has always circulated that she met The Magician while she was serving at The Keg and I think she recognized he could help her SM presence and her quest for ‘fame’. She’d lost 100 lbs and gained a following but what was she going to do next? She didn’t have another 100 lbs to drop! He gets her the job with Concourse and they make up the office romance. She’s never been without a partner so, of course, they get married but I don’t think she was really that into him. I think she has a very immature idea of what relationships are about and she can’t do it. She’s looking for the excitement of new love but she’s also looking for the next ‘plot line’ and the S & S story has been told time and time again. It’s old she needs something new. He served his purpose and now she’s finished with him.
She doesn’t consider anyone else because she’s the star of the show. Someone made a comment somewhere that she has everything on a story board and it makes sense. I don’t know if things are going to keep going her way because I don’t think she’s very smart. She’s very manipulative but I think he was the brains of the operation.
They also hid their romance while working there because it was against company policy and they would lose their jobs.
I have a lot of questions about their entire relationship and have since the 1st time I heard Shame’s voice.
