I don't have anything that secures mags with velcro flaps or pull tabs and I've never found I needed it doing competitions. It's not like "brutality" but there is some crawling and going prone and getting up.
I like Esstac KYWI pouches for pistol and rifle mags on my belt. Secure but easy to access mags. It's not the cheapest, tho there are sales sometimes on some online stores.
Then I have like a stretchy velcro sleeve insert to hold mags in a placard on my plate carrier.
I don't know whether or not cheap stuff is any good. Condor brand is kind of budget, and it has been fine for me. Seen reviews apparently from troops that have used some of their stuff.
Honestly, I would believe some Chinese stuff could probably be good enough and much cheaper. If it means more money for ammo and training, then it definitely makes sense to me.
