I eat the same main meal every day. I make it myself. Because I've had so much practice, I can make the meal in about 20 minutes. I put things away and clean as I go. The meal only needs one bowl, which is the bowl I eat from, and one frying pan. It's mostly fresh vegetables cooked in the microwave in the bowl, while the chicken thighs are frying in the pan. There's also a simple cheese sauce and spices. When my meal is ready, the kitchen is clean. Since I use the same bowls, cups, and utensils every day, they just stay in the sink, I wash as I go. Also, I know exactly what I'm going to get at the grocery store every week, I can do my grocery shopping in one hour, including driving to and from the store. I go early in the morning when it's mostly empty, and take the same path through the store, barely stopping to pick up each item.
When I stopped thinking about food as entertainment and decided it was strictly for nutrition, I was able to optimize the process. I've been doing this for over four years, now, and I haven't gotten tired of the meal. It's like taking a shower, or sleeping in a bed, I don't try different ways of doing those things every day, and I don't get bored with the process, I just don't think of them that way. So, I don't think of eating as being entertaining, it's just something I need to do every day, so I do it.
Are you willing to share the specifics? I have a really hard time cooking healthy meals for myself, and this is exactly the kind of meal I have been trying to find that is simple to make with no cleanup but still healthy.
