A place for for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited.

6 Be civil in comments and no accusations of being a bot, 'paid by Putin,' Tankie, etc. This includes instance shaming.

That's disappointing.. I'll give you one example then. I'll try to keep it short. Democratically elected socialist, Salvador Allende, was overthrown with help from Nixon, Kissenger, and the CIA using the media to influence public opinion in the 70s. Allende wanted to nationalize Chile's resources like its copper mines which at the time were owned by US companies.
I'm well aware. The point is how the capitalist press was used to lie to the american people furthering their agenda and suppressing freely elected socialist leaders. It answered your question, and this particular instance wasn't revealed as fact until some 35-40 years later. There's plenty more examples like it.
