For me journaling only works if it’s fun. That means the pens need to be colorful markers with interestingly shaped tips. I also write with large letters so the pages fill quickly.
Oh yes, totally! I also go through different phases. I am not good at doodles for example. But I have some washi-tape. And some easy stuff I can also doodle. Sometimes I just want to write and I am happy with just doing that. Sometimes I want to decorate. So yes, being fun totally helps!
I just learned about junk journals. While I know it's not something I would keep up, I can totally see myself doing a spread once in a while if it fits (a trip for example where I keep some tickets or receipts) in addition to writing.
