More than half its UK users are women.

This does not sound like the Reddit I knew...

Depends a lot on the subreddit. There are entire (very active) subs full of women, but often those women only visit 1-2 specific subs, and don't interact with the wider Reddit community, so many large generic subs tend to skew male, possibly bc of the hostile atmosphere.
