Environmental groups are calling for tighter regulations around decommissioning oil and gas fields after energy giant Woodside shed hundreds of kilograms of plastic into the ocean.

Documents reveal the company knowingly continued to shed plastic without implementing risk controls for almost two months before notifying the offshore regulator.
