most important geopolitical facts i know of, ranked:

  1. United Arab Emirates (UAE) completed a deep-water seaport there.
  2. It borders Djibouti, which houses a Chinese military base.
  3. Ethiopia hopes to gain cheaper access to the ocean through that port.
  4. Israel & Taiwan recognizes Somalilands independence from Somalia.
