I forgot about Q'ntal and Death in June. I've not heard of Extremo and Subway to Sally. Do you mind posting some examples?
I'm away from my library ATM. (Hospital with family. Nothing serious. Just stressful) The one that comes to mind with subway is actually a version of a cruxshadows song they remixed. Both subway and extremo tend less folk darkwave and more folk metal. You'll be in with some lute, hurdy gurdy, and bagpipes, then the drums electric guitar and chanting come in. Follow it up with a little Faith and the Muse. Next thing you know you're in Abbey Park and the Cog is Dead. Wondering how you got to steampunk.
I like this, your second link is the same as the first.

Extremo is fun, thank you.
Their SoM cover is a good time for sure. Andy is still the best. But the bagpipe flair is fun.
I feel like I need an ale in hand while listening to Extremo.
Absolutely. They started out much more ren-fair then went metal from there.
Check this out, I just found it. Hopefully it's not AI.
Familiar with Peter Bjargo? (He was in Arcana)

Thank you, I'll be listening to this for awhile.
Oh thanks for this! I loved Arcana.
Azam Ali has been around a long time, definitely not AI.Β
It doesn't sound very AI, to me at least. Vocals and instruments are nice and clear. Has that nice Eurasian vibe going for it reminds me a bit of Ofra Haza.
I am touchy right now about Ai, lol. I need to listen to Ofra Haza.
If AI content is labeled as such I'm meh. I'll always prefer the work of an actual artist. And let's be honest. At some point it will be part of legitimate workflows. But those masquerading as artists I have no love for.
Here's Top of the pops 1992 with Andy eldritch with Ofra Haza.
