imagine burning to death because of something as mind-bogglingly stupid as the door not opening

i'm no programmer, but i have to think it's possible to make these cars with something like "if car on fire, then unlock doors"

If the car's on fire, there ain't no software running any more. This is a massive hardware design flaw.

Have you ever tried exiting a Tesla? You press a button and there's a complicated dance of several motors that crack the window, undo the latch, nudge the door, and god knows what else.

It should be a pull handle that operates a mechanical override when you pull on it harder. Like every other fucking car. Because it's a car, and this is a solved safety feature.
