Soooo after finishing my popcorn and reading the funny "discussion" between you and captain gatekeeper, here is my real reply.
https://cachyos.org/ its a arch based distro which was recommend by many for gaming. Usually I am a "standard arch" fan but for my living room I wanted a distro wich does not give me so much headache.
I am not used with fedora based distros and also usually I am not a friend of distro hopping, especially when i dont really finished my installation scripts so a new distro would also a pain in the ass to configure 😄
To be honest I think i need to admit that i am ready for an upgrade in my hardware and also search for a reason to buy a NRW GPU, but still wanna consider my options.
Out of curiosity, how hard is the switch to a fedora based Linux if I am usually used to use arch or Debian based distros?
I hesitate to make any reply on the subject of CachyOS for fear of drawing more ire in my direction.. so I'll say thanks for the info and leave it at that :D
Debian/Ubuntu based distros is where I started before jumping on board with the Fedora based Nobara distro.
I can honestly say it wasnt that hard at all. The biggest issue was learning to type dnf instead of apt when installing software from terminal, Which is hardly an issue at all.. so it being my biggest issue highlights the ease of it to me, being a random idiot who doesnt have IT/Sysadmin level experience with linux.
I hope at least you know what Hanna Montana Linux is 😝
Still thanks for the input :) I think i stay on arch /Debian based distros, because if I switch my living room PC to fedora I would have 3 different systems to manage ^^
And ignore the other person. There are always weird people out there who think everybody has to know everything they know....
Only because I've seen the Michael MJD video about it, lol.
Don't blame you for stayong on Cachy, Its what your comfortable with. Was just tryin to offer something that had a chance of helping without having to buy a card at such insane prices thanks to ram and AI bullshit.
and yeah, I know, but I legitimately am concerned for him. People like that end up killing loved ones if they don't get help.
