Yeah the ending is not the best. It felt like they were rushing to end it or had given up and wanted it to end.
But it is also left open, we know white is still there and things could happen. I am still hoping the author decides to do another series after this one continuing with White.
From what little I read in the afterwards (I skipped most of them), the author thought it would be a shame for readers to have to wait a whole year for the conclusion so he said he'd publish volume 16 only one month after volume 15. Volume 16 definitely needed more time in the oven. "Lets spend half the book just switching perspectives! That won't be annoying or confusing!"
The Misadventures of D and White! It could happen, but it would basically be a story entirely about the god's realm as there's very little left on Game Planet for them and what IS left is very, very finite.
