I don't think it's about making more money, it's more like something to do with your money if you're a billionaire.
We could potentially achieve immortality by researching neuron function and medical tech until we can protect neurons and their functionality perfectly. And if a person isn't living long enough to see that, it might be worth just trying to transfer your mind into a cyber world and hoping your real "soul" carries over to a computer mind without your body. I'd prefer that over having no options if I was dying.
I don't like to think about this, but I have more thoughts, so I'll type them.
We live in a world where a lot of poor people are going to be dying in wars and stuff because people are obsessed with having kids. If you're a billionaire trying to live forever, it's nice to have a tech everyone can at least try to use while continuing to have kids and have their real bodies die if they want to do that, instead of having a weird global religious war over who should get to be immortal and/or who should get to decide who gets to have kids when people don't want to die to make room for them.
Overused my brain's capacity to think about this for now. I miss Digit.
