The indie horror game Iron Lung is getting a feature film adaptation from popular YouTube star Markiplier, and Variety has revealed the project’s first official poster this morning.

Here’s the official synopsis: “The stars are gone. The planets have disappeared. Only individuals aboard space stations or starships were left to give the end a name — The Quiet Rapture.

“After decades of decay and crumbling infrastructure, the Consolidation of Iron has made a discovery on a barren moon designated AT-5. An ocean of blood.
Hoping to discover desperately needed resources they immediately launch an expedition. A submarine is crafted and a convict is welded inside. Due to the pressure and depth of the ocean the forward viewport has been encased in metal. If successful, they will earn their freedom.

“If not, another will follow. This will be the 13th expedition.”

David Szymanski created the Iron Lung video game, which was named by Bloody Disgusting as one of the Best Indie Horror Video Games You Might’ve Missed in 2022.

Caroline Rose Kaplan, Troy Baker and Elsie Lovelock will also star in the movie.

I'm quite interested to see this. I don't know who Markiplier is, and I saw that apparently it's going to be very low budget, but sometimes low-budget indie films punch above their class. I liked the game, but can't imagine how the source material can be put to film.

He's a goober with a majestic voice, who's extremely YouTube famous, and who records himself playing horror games. One such video is him playing Iron Lung the game, which is what the movie is based on.

Him playing the Dead Space Remake, and Resident Evil 7 are very fun to watch. But he's been around for a longggg time.
