The fact that several of the guards received lower sentences for beating Robert Brooks to death, than Robert had received for an assault charge, still sends a message that police get off lightly.
Everyone involved should have received life in prison with no parole for abuse of their positions of power.
And this is for a documented instance and there are no shortage of those. Imagine how many go without any justice whatsoever.
