She really wasn’t well, she died, he’s sad, what is happening. Do they believe she’s coming back? From death? Because cold? I mean

Sort of? Cryogenics is something some people really do believe in.

Also you can end up as a Von Neumann probe if We Are Legion, We Are Bob and the subsequent Bobiverse series taught me anything.
