People often aren't aware that the average PC gamer doesn't have a 5090. The majority of people are using pretty outdated hardware. And Steam are certainly in a position to know that because of the Steam survey.
I'm one of them, my Cpu and motherboard are both almost 10 years old. I updated most other parts but don't want to mess around with those core parts in fear of damaging something.
At the moment I'm either considering finally making the jump to a new case, motherboard and Cpu with the parts I replaced over the years or I will buy a steam machine.
Cpu could be dangerous if you are not careful but video card is easy. Open case, 1-3 screws depending on old and new card, pull out, push in new card.
That said I am running a 970 so...
980 Ti. And dual Xeon 5355s.
