One of the last things my mom said before we stopped speaking is "I'm going to stay on the side of the party that PROTECTS kids!"
I never did dive into that comment, because I have a feeling there's a bunch of groomer, anti-trans shit underneath it. But it also makes clear, they don't see the near daily headlines about pastors in the Bible Belt raping kids, making CP, etc.
Part of me wants to send her that "still not a drag queen" list but she'd just do more mental gymnastics.
Damn, sorry to hear that. As much as my racist family pisses me off, thankfully they haven't descended into full blown MAGA psychosis.
Yea, there'd be no point in making contact. It'll just encourage them to blindside you and leave you dumbfounded with the sheer disconnect from reality.
