Can someone explain to me why a trump backing radical would try to assassinate trump?

  1. the is the obvious assumption so perhaps it was an attempt at a false flag. Kill Trump, someone succeeds him, gains his supporters and the support of those who think the left did it.

  2. he supported Trump until.... Pick your poison. Epstein revelations. Some other policy position that he waffled on.

  3. so mentally ill he backed Trump but then did this in some sort of fugue state. "Trump has been replaced by aliens. If I shoot the guy pretending to be him the ruse will be over and I will have saved the country!"

Off the top of my head.

I really tend not subscribe to conspiracy theories, but so much was weird about that assassination attempt that's so bizarre:

  1. Crooks was spotted by multiple law enforcement officers prior to the shooting and even had his picture taken in position several minutes before any shots were fired
  2. DJT was brought to his feet and escorted to safety arguably too quickly after the shooter was downed, before multiple shooters could be ruled out
  3. Photographers seemingly ushered into position by SS to capture DJT's triumphant fist pump when that was arguably of lower importance than securing the area
  4. But the real kicker for me is - DJT seems like the kind of guy that would never shut up about something like this, but I have only heard him mention it a couple of times. That also works against these theories though, because I'm sure it was traumatic and probably still haunts him.

Eh whatever. It's interesting to ponder, but there's not much that can't be explained by incompetence.

To me it's the lack of permanent damage, or any damage visible just a week later. Ears, especially old ears, do not heal back to normal usually. If you pierce an ear it's always going to have a dimple, even if closed up.

WRT 3 don’t forget the US flag being lowered into shot on a crane as the photographers were being ushered in. I’m also not a conspiracy theorist, but either a lot of people did a lot of thinking really quickly, or there’s something fishy about it all.

You don't even need to believe it was planned by anyone else. It's just not that insane that a MAGA person would attempt to shoot Trump.

Don't forget obsessive types, people who are so overcome with desire and worship that it compels them to seek attention (I am NOT well versed in psychology, there is probably waaaay more involved here), which seems the most likely scenario seeing how his cult followers act (and if not a conspiracy false flag).
