My guess is that the GOP saw the results of the last election and figured this was the perfect time to dump Donnie.

They'll have a year to pretend that they were all shocked - SHOCKED - to find that he was involved. Then they can run as Law & Order heroes in the 2026 midterms.

Nothing else has ever stuck and the more likely outcome is all the qanon psychopaths start talking about how maybe raping children is actually a good thing.

But it is really a win/win for the republicans at this point.

  • "Teflon don" strikes again and they never have to worry about this again
  • The qanon shaman and all the other nutters storm the capital (again...) and murder him (hi Secret Service: This is not me saying I condone those actions) and then they can blame all the bad stuff on trump and finish the takeover in either 28 or 32, depending on if vance can successfully drop his Indian wife.
