That's because groups like the KKK have organizations and memberships, so they project that other people obviously have organizations and memberships. It's always projection.

The funny thing is they actually studied the autonomous left in the late 90s and learned how to copy that structure for their own groups. So they absolutely know that this accusation is absolutely bogus. But it's a great way to convince people who think listening to podcasts is "research" of who needs to go to the camps first.

I don't think you have to go that far. Fox is screaming that "they're a terrorist group" and your brain just fills in that it's organized.
