At the moment there are two kinds of bakeries in the UK: high quality sweet stuff OR good selection but supermarket quality. Yes, I wish Gail's was cheaper but their offering is amazing, and in my opinion the only "proper" bakery in the UK. I wish there were more local Polish/German/Jewish/Turkish bakeries that offer high quality bread and a mix of sweet and savory goods.
