Absolutely wild. I know they keep saying these modern cars are so safe but this really drives home how much safer they are from say even 2020. Remembering Grojean crawling out of a car on fire that was a much lighter hit than this one..
TBF Grosjean crashed into a rather different kind of barrier.
he literally went through a steel armco barrier head on, but it was race start on full tanks.
It was at an angle like Bortoleto's, but the barrier indeed offered zero bounce.
Hadn't seen that shot. Much less forgiving material to slam into that's for sure
