The EU has already noticed. Manufacturers have to provide software updates for five years, for all new devices since June.

Ah yes, that's why they make apps unavailable for older devices with no way to install them besides some iTunes hack that I'm not sure works anymore.

How old devices are you trying to use?

And is it Apple or the app developer who hasn’t updated their app in a decade?

Apple are the ones who refuse to allow developers to deploy apps that run on older devices while also not allowing users to download previous versions of an app.
