According to Intel the N305 only has 9 PCIe lanes (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/231805/intel-core-i3n305-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-80-ghz/specifications.html)

Do each of the M.2 drives run with only x1 lane?

Yeah, 8(PCIe 3.0 x1)

It's listed in the specifications section near the bottom of the page titled "M.2 2280 NVMe Slot".
