I think it's youtube experiment feature for premium user, apparently for selected user only right now. I only noticed it appear on my feed today, so maybe they're expanding slowly

How about Snake? It was done before on their old website's buffering screen.
There's a whole lot of game there, but it's just those flash game lah
Oh... These sorta "instant play" games are quite ubiquitous. Even Microsoft promoted other casual games in their own Solitaire app, Edge browser and elsewhere.
Yeah, it's basically html5 based game that run in browser, youtube basically used an in-app browser for this.
