I guess denying our grandchildren the chance to ever see fireflies wasn't enough, we need to take away the night sky, too.

As a kid, I saw a few satellites.
But it was more like "awesome, there is one!" when you've been staring into the sky for hours.
Now, whenever I'm somewhere I can even see the night sky properly, there will almost always be one within view.

And I haven't seen the Milky Way in a long time.

Not seeing the Milky Way is a local light problem, not a satellite problem.

I can see the Milky Way on some nights, and I'm in a suburb of a large US city. If I drive just a few miles away it's even easier to see.
