Nah I think motorsport is fine, the problem with cars comes from using them as a private transportation medium, not the concept of an automobile itself.

F1 is actually a very good sport, it’s a place where restrictions breed creativity and innovation, some of the most popular techs in cars have come from F1 (regenerative braking for example). And emissions wise? F1 is actually better than you’d expect, the fuels that are used are some of the nicest available, and F1 cars are actually hybrids, using battery power from regenerative sources during the race for a boost.

The FiA, is one a collection of assholes, but they’re at least a climate-conscious collection of assholes.
